Sample story: how a long investigation reads on this site

A placeholder article showing headlines, images, quotes, tables and source notes. Replace it with your first story.

Abstract contour lines with one point circled in red
Placeholder image. Captions sit under the photo in small type, with credits.

This is placeholder text. Every story is a plain Markdown file in the content/articles folder. The block at the top of the file sets the headline, the summary line under it, the date, the section and the lead image. Everything below that block is the story itself.

Paragraphs are separated by a blank line. Links look like this one, and the site marks outside links so readers’ browsers don’t pass along where they came from.

Subheadings break up long pieces

A line starting with ## becomes a subheading. Each one gets its own anchor, so you can link someone straight to a section of a long investigation.

A line starting with > becomes a block quote, for quoting documents, filings or interviews.

Abstract grid of rectangles, one outlined in red
Images placed in the body get a caption from the text in quotes. They are resized automatically for phones.

Tables work for records and timelines

Date Record Source
2026-01-04 Placeholder entry Public filing
2026-03-18 Placeholder entry Court docket
2026-06-02 Placeholder entry Procurement notice

On a phone, wide tables scroll sideways inside the story rather than breaking the page.

Sources. A source list at the end of a story is just a list:

  1. Placeholder source one, with a link.
  2. Placeholder source two.
