About

Who we are

Crawlspace Analysis is an independent investigative organization. The team reports from open sources: public records, corporate and property filings, court dockets, procurement notices, archived web pages, and satellite and street-level imagery. We show the evidence alongside the findings, so readers can check the work for themselves.

Crawlspace Analysis is funded by its readers through Patreon. The organization carries no advertising and does not track the people who read it.

Our methods and policies

Sourcing

We rely first on primary sources: the document, the dataset, the recording, the filing itself. Where we can do so safely, we link to or publish the underlying material so readers can examine it. Facts drawn from other reporting are credited to the outlet that reported them.

Verification

Every factual claim in a story is checked against the source it rests on before publication. Documents are checked for authenticity: where they came from, whether they are internally consistent, and whether their details match the public record. A claim the team cannot verify is not published as fact.

Open-source

Images and video are located and dated against independent references before we rely on them. Web pages central to a story are archived at the time of research, so the record survives if the original is changed or removed. Where it helps readers follow or reproduce a finding, we explain how it was made.

Documents and leaks

Leaked material is assessed for authenticity before we report on it, and we tell readers how it was authenticated as far as we can without exposing a source. We remove personal information that the story does not need, and we do not publish material whose release would put people at risk of physical harm.

Anonymous sources

We grant anonymity only when a source faces real risk and the information cannot be obtained another way. The team knows the identity of every anonymous source it relies on, and we tell readers why anonymity was granted.

Right of reply

Before publishing findings about a person or organization, we put the specific points we intend to report to them and allow reasonable time to respond. Their response is reflected in the story.

Private individuals

Our reporting concerns public conduct. We do not publish home addresses, family details or other private information, and we do not name private individuals unless their role is central to the story.

Corrections

Errors are corrected promptly. A correction is noted at the end of the story with the date and what changed; published work is not altered silently. To report an error, write to contact@crawlspaceanalysis.com.

Independence and funding

Crawlspace Analysis is funded by readers through Patreon. We carry no advertising and accept no payment, gifts or favors in exchange for coverage. Patrons have no say over what we report. Any conflict of interest relevant to a story is disclosed in that story.

AI Use

Crawlspace Analysis does utilize various a.i. tools including but not limited to commercial LLMs. While we do use these tools in research and drafting, nothing here is published without a human editor and source verification; be aware full OSINT reports will nevertheless contain generated material. News articles published by Crawlspace Analysis are entirely written by a human, with a human editor, and sources verified to the best of the team’s ability.
